PLCC Socket Selection Guide for PLCC68 series
PLCC68 series is very small, stamp size FPGA/CPLD modules designed to be used with 68pin PLCC socket.
Some PLCC sockets have spacers on the inside top surface. For single-sided modules, you can use any types of PLCC socket. For double-sided modules, you need to pay attention to select PLCC socket. Some sockets are unusable due to the spacers position and height.
Please take a look on this page for your consideration.

Surface Mount PLCC Socket
|
Most of surface mount PLCC sockets have no spacer in it, so it is usable with no problem. |
Through Hole PLCC Socket
|
There are four spacers on inside top surface. Following conditions should be met: |
Unusable PLCC Socket Example
|
This socket is not good for double-sided module because it has L-shape spacers. (But OK for signle-sided) This is a picture of bottom side of XP68-01. No components are mounted at the red circles not to be obstacles for the PLCC socket's spacers. Green arrows point at module's spacers. |
